What to expect from PDF editing
PDFs containing real text can be edited directly, and the editor keeps each line's position, size and alignment. Because browsers cannot re-use the fonts embedded inside a PDF, edited lines are redrawn in the closest standard font — the editor shows the detected font name and lets you pick a replacement. Scanned documents store pages as images, so their words aren't editable text; you can still white-out an area and type over it. White-out visually covers content but does not remove the underlying data, so don't rely on it for confidential information.
